The D-Day will come!

D-Day will come our way!
November 18, 2008

I just wonder why, what had happened to our Nation? Like it is sicked and getting more and more sickening! A supposed to be peaceful candlelite vigil which held on Saturday night (15/11/08), in Penang, could also turn rile and invited almost a platoon of riot police to attend to it! Protecting the safety of a passel of mere hundred odds peace lovers ?!

What about the more serious crimes, the felonies that had recently occurred in Penang which involved several lives lost to the brutal criminals with the perpetrators still on the run?! Have they attended to all those they have unsettled? The Police now has redundant manpower save from the usual complaint of being short handed by the Police chief?!

It turned out otherwise, that night, the emcee of the ceremony to express the wills of the law abiding citizens, to urge for the repeal of ISA, was arrested immediately on the disperse of the crowd! Miss Khoo who was the emcee was the poor victim she had been tugged in to the police station for questioning! Being a gentle lady, though brave to stand out to the high handed authority, in the public, still she was caught unaware with puzzle and shock that’s the normal reaction of a fair-minded person who thought who had not done anything disorder! What’s wrong with her when she merely went along with a group of harmless and educated people whom they left behind their children at homes, sacrificed their family days, for just one purpose, they were there at the vigil to express their sense of civic consciousness, to attend a noble cause which they thought were obligated to help making the society a more secured, more peaceful and fearless place to live. Ironically, the Police was proving to them that staying back at home would be most peaceful!

I had attended twice the candlelite vigils at the same place except to have skipped the last one on that very night due to contingency matter. The previous ones were quite successful and peaceful even though during each and every occasions, there were always two handful of police officers staying on guard. They were rather friendly all the while but beyond any expectation, they would have turned wild that very Saturday night and pounced on the poor and petite Paula Khoo and ‘invited’ her to the police den for harassment! It’s clear to every mind that it was an action directed following the villainous police action taken against the same candlelite vigil with the same purpose in PJ ! Our Nation seems like has fallen into the hands of the Nazis Gestapo! I feel regret for such uncalled for actions from the police and express sympathy to Paula Khoo she had unfortunate enough to bear the brunt!

Whilst the police can break our bone, they cannot break our soul and by continue to suppress our will, our burning desires to fight for fair justice and the abolition of the draconian ISA, the despotic Government will have to be made to pay for the price of the consequence!

Come on comrades! Let’s fight on, keep the fire burning until it erupts as the lava, come next general election, the burning lava will run over the racist and totalitarian Government led by UMNO, will make them disappear and extinct like the dinosaurs! We have to prove to them, not unassailable is UMNO’s bastion of corruption and hegemony; invincible is our will and peoples’ power!

A new dawn will take its course! D-Day will worth all our struggles and sacrifices! Though we can’t do as much as Raja Petra, we must also do the least to supplement his efforts for he is doing all the good deeds not only for him, but for the majority of us! Can we just afford to let him stand alone and fight as a lone ranger?!

Definitely not, if you ask me!

  1. Dear Candidman,

I appreciate your candid comments *wink* and share your views re the supposed peacekeepers of our nation who seem to regard me as some kung fu exponent for they reckon that it needed SIX plain clothes officers to escort me to the Patani Road Police Station.

Thank you for your empathy and compassion for my ordeal and trauma because you are right in that it was totally unexpected especially since no warning was given to disperse and the arrest was made after the event had ended and the crowd had dispersed.

Malaysians, wake up!!! You know what to do.

Thanks again Candidman for not mincing your words about the pathetic state of affairs in our beloved country.

Take care and peace be to you.

    sincerely,
    Paula
*by the way, I am not petite :) but thanks! Wish I was though!

  2. Dear Paula,

When I read the next day to see you appeared in the Chinese media and that's the time, I really felt like my heart was filled with lava! I was so furiously angry and kept asking myself - how come a lady was treated in that manner, for all I know, I had attended twice the same vigils and totally I am aware of the peaceful behaviors of all the participants. I considered the police action levied on you as over the bond and a disgrace which had trampled our very fundamental rights and democracy had been further torn to smithereens!

The more unbearable feeling was, the police was acting with double standard when they should act drastic on the Umno mobs during they created such a rant and rave at Komtar months ago, they found it relevant to pounce on you like you were a ring leader of some secret society!

Know that it's a scare crow tactic by the police to discourage future function, I do hope that your revisit to the police station will be a mere formality and you will be treated with due leniency and that your case be pardoned. In the event any untoward event were to happen, we will be around you, I promise! I and my friends will sure render our utmost aid to ensure that you will be saved and free further harrassment!

Hope this messages will cheer you up and remember, we are not lonely, our mission is yet to be accomplished, until the next vigil, I hope to see you there!.........Cheers!

Bravo to Paula! How I wish all other men are as brave as you.

    Frankie / Candidman

  4. Running the candlelite vigil is the most peaceful way to express our sentiment of protests to the mal-governance, it carries another meaning that it's a ceremony of moan, the rakyat moan for the demised of justice, and it's the basic right of every humankind in this planet! In other Countries, they burn effigies and even portraits of their lousy leaders! We are civilized enough not to do the same, but that doesn't mean that we won't, until situation warrants, they prove to be ever relentless of behaving like the goons of their political master without giving the least respect to us the people at large, we are their real masters!

The more they clampdown our vigil, they more proven that they are awared of our sound of protests, the more they will help us to bring up our good cause to the limelight and the awareness of the public, we should instead not to give up timidly succumbing to their paws, let's slut it out! Let them prove to the whole world that they are truly bigots of Nazi, the Gestapo!

  6. Hi Jarod,

We must be patient, Rome was not built overnight, but once it's built, its towering greatness became ever memorial and good name prevalent!

Nelson Mandela took half of his life time to struggle and 42 years he was incarcerated! Our beloved Nation has just begun its revolution, of course the success won't come like hey presto. It needs RPK, right-minded politicians, you and I to hold steadfast to our belief, D-Day will sure become! Don't give up, time is essence, we will see better days and that's D-Day knocks into shape, provided we all strive hard at it, there is no strike it lucky success without the least of our sacrifices! Cheers....!

  7. Come on don't put the blame on the police. What is this everything you all organised a gathering which cause the crime rate to rise. Why you all can organise any gathering because so far the police have given all the malaysian a peaceful lives which all the politician feel so peaceful that they have time to organise gatherings. What for. Bring it to the parliament. dont need to have gathering causing to much trouble. The police have to be there. When no police personel in the gathering then when crime comes up then they will say where is the police.
Come on guys when the time malaysia is so peaceful why create so much choas. This is politic way of life. There is no head which can think same. Anybody who is the boss surely there is opponent. Nobody will say the boss is correct.

  8. It's fine the police officers were there for the past 6 vigils and due respects were given by taking their orders to not do this, not do that! They also knew that those were peaceful gathering, with some even brought their children to attend as if they were attending an outdoor opera stage show! The vigils were so disciplined and in the environment of peace and merrymaking, no trouble making at all !

The police officers are most welcome to attend the vigils and will be even best they bring along their children to have revelry together. Please don't blame the vigil organiser for wasting the police officer's time and due to their absence from the more critical crimes, don't blame us but blame themselves for skipping the duty roster! Keeping the society peaceful and crime free is the duty and the jobs they are paid to do so. No credit should be accorded!

Instead of wasting time with the law abiding citizens, the police is urged to pay more attentions to the more serious crimes, be vigilant to the anticipated increasing crime rate amid bad economy, even the large number of foreign workers and illegal migrants would have depleted all their leisure times if they really wanted to do a good job to gain confidence and respect of the Penangites!

Let us be felt proud of you Mr Policeman!
